The Athletics Development team works with Athletics Director Marty Scarano and the coaching staff as well as alumni and friends to secure funding support through both annual giving and endowment gifts. We are committed to engaging with alumni and friends to enhance the sense of pride and tradition our athletic program brings to the University community and the state of New Hampshire.

Diane Metcalfe

Diane Metcalf
Director of Athletics Development

A former Associate Director of Athletics at Harvard University for six years who supervised nine intercollegiate teams, served as liaison to the admissions office, and oversaw athletics fundraising. Diane Metcalf joined the Athletics Development team in November 2009 as the Director of the Athletics Annual Fund. In this role, Metcalf developed a compelling brand and case for support for annual giving to UNH Athletics called The Wildcat Fund. As the current Director of Athletics Development, Metcalf and the athletics development team work closely with the director of athletics, coaches and key volunteers to grow and enhance all areas within the office including annual giving, major gifts, capital projects, special events, stewardship and communications. Metcalf graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, where she was a 4-year letter winner on the gymnastics team, and earned a master’s degree from American University in 1995. Metcalf’s experience in intercollegiate athletic administration includes three years at the University of Michigan as a Manager of Events/Championships and four years at Dartmouth College as an Associate Director of Athletics.

Brenda Holt-Mullaney

Associate Director, Athletics Major Gifts

Brenda Holt-Mullaney joined the Athletics Development team in January 2007 as the Associate Director, Athletics Major Gifts. In this role, Holt-Mullaney is responsible for developing and implementing strategies for increasing support for annual giving, major gifts and capital projects for UNH Athletics. Holt-Mullaney’s focus is on establishing and sustaining long-term donor relationships with alumni, parents, faculty/staff and friends in order to assist them in achieving their philanthropic goals and objectives.

Prior to joining the Athletics Development team, Brenda had a successful 23 year career within the hospitality industry. She served in various sales and marketing management positions with Omni/Dunfey Hotel Corporation, Days Inn of America, Hilton Hotels, and the New England Center.

Brenda earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and her Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire. She is a UNH parent to Ashley ’13 and Kyle ’15 and proud daughter of legendary UNH Hockey Coach Charlie Holt.

Eric Nappy

Eric Nappy
Assistant Director of Athletics Annual Fund

Eric Nappy joined the Athletics Development team in August 2011 as the Assistant Director of Athletics Annual Giving.   Nappy is responsible for strategizing, developing, managing and executing a comprehensive athletics annual giving program including mail, phone, email and social media communications.  Additionally, Nappy will work closely with coaches, alumni, and the volunteer leaders of the Friends groups to grow the overall athletic annual giving program.  Prior to UNH, Nappy served as the Assistant Director of Development for Athletics at the Indiana State University (ISU) Foundation where he implemented and managed the athletic annual giving campaign and was directly involved in several other facets of athletics development, including fundraising, the creation of print and electronic communication materials, and the cultivation and solicitation of athletic prospects.  Nappy, who graduated from the University of Florida in 2006 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science, also interned with the Gator Boosters, Inc., the fundraising division for the school’s athletic department.  In 2008, Nappy earned his Master’s Degree in Sport and Entertainment Management from the University of South Carolina.

Amy Sheehan

Amy Sheehan
Administrative Assistant

Amy Sheehan started her carreer with UNH in 2002 working at the UNH Alumni Association. In 2003, Sheehan started working at the President's Office at UNH. After a brief stint at Phillips Exeter Academy in 2004, Sheehan returned to UNH in June 2005.
