Giving Societies

UNH Announces New Leadership Circle

In June, the UNH Foundation Board of Directors approved a number of new giving societies to honor the distinguished group of annual contributors who, year after year, create priceless opportunities for deserving students and their faculty mentors. The UNH Leadership Circle comprises six levels of giving, offering a variety of benefits, including exclusive invitations to events in Durham and elsewhere.

The new societies are:

The Mendum’s Pond Society
$1,000–$2,499

The Wagon Hill Society
$2,500–$4,999

The Oyster River Society
$5,000–$9,999

The College Woods Society
$10,000–$24,999

The Great Bay Society
$25,000–$49,999

The Isles of Shoals Society
$50,000 or more

 

 


 

Honorary Societies

Milne Society: Cumulative gifts of $1,000,000 or more

Douglas and Helena McElwain Milne were generous benefactors of the University throughout their lives. They are perhaps best known for their gifts in support of Dimond Library's special collections.


Atkins Society: Cumulative gifts of $500,000 or more

Reginald F. Atkins was a member of the class of 1928, and spent most of his life as a member of the commodities exchange. Upon his death in 1992, Atkins entrusted his estate to the University for scholarships, an endowed chair, and athletics facilities.

 

Elliott Society: Cumulative gifts of $100,000 or more

John S. Elliott was a member of the class of 1915, and was founder of the Elliott Rose Company in Madbury, New Hampshire. Elliott honored the University through a lifetime of leadership as a University System trustee, state legislator, and benefactor.
